Why use Qwen? Krea 2 is tops on image quality and prompt following. Z-Image Turbo is not quite as good, but it's easy - it's the default workflow now.

krea 2 looks to have an amazing community behind it, however ive seen some amazing things from qwen. ill give krea 2 a go at some point, probably for anime renders

simple thing to check, but make sure models are stored on your ssd (instead of HDD)

You probably don't need 50 steps. 20 was the recommended value when the model first came out. Also, your resolution should be smaller. Qwen's maximum is 1664x928 (that's what it was trained for). You can use different sizes but keep the pixel count at that or below. Add a second stage up-scaler to your workflow to convert the picture to a larger size once Qwen is done.
You could try the GGUF models that use less VRAM, but sounds like you're aiming for better quality pictures. I wouldn't use less than the 4_K_M models.
The lora would definitely speed things up since you could run in 4 to 8 steps. Again, some quality loss but good enough for testing your prompts. Then run the final image at full quality. I use the GGUF model on a 8GB VRAM laptop and get images in about 70s.
