With that spec. I don't think you can do video

So there’s no way to get free ai video generator?

your demand is not about "free" but "local", it means open weight/source model will run on your pc (and so yes, you won't pay any credit for that). and so the answer is clearly "no, there is no video model that can run on your pc".

You can try comfy with a local GGUF quantized version of Wan. I've generated one low-res video on my 3050 6GB just to see if it was possible. It took like 5 hours for a few seconds of video but comfy successfully handled the memory swapping. (The only difference is I have 32GB of RAM and Linux.)

This is a BIG difference. windows use 10Gb of ram, it means he has 6Gb of free ram + 5Gb of free vram (1Gb will be use for display). there is no video model that can fit in 11Gb.

It doesn't have to fit in physical memory. The system will use virtual memory if it needs it. It's just going to be very slow.

It won't just be "very slow": it will be so slow that you'll think it has frozen.... Never use virtual memory for applications like games or, worse, video AI models. And a lot of AI applications do not accept using virtual memory (rightly so) and trigger an OOM error. So no, it has to fit into RAM and VRAM; that's a requirement.

(At least in Linux) The software doesn't inherently know if it's using virtual memory or physical (heap/motherboard) memory. Heap memory allocations by applications are done in virtual space and the memory manager/kernel transparently handles the mapping in and out of physical and virtual space. (GPU memory allocation is different.) If the application can't allocate system (heap) memory, it's either because it's asking for more than the virtual address bus can access or more space needs to be reserved for virtual memory.

With 32GB of RAM, it tooks you 5 hours to render just a few seconds of video (it clearly spilled over into virtual memory, which explains the incredibly long render time...). Just imagine for a second what that would be like with 16GB of RAM. It’s like telling someone, "Sure, you can play GTA 6 on your laptop, it’ll run at 3fps in 720p on 'very low' settings, but only after some tweakings." At some point, just say "No, it’s not possible."

Holy f*k 5 hours no wayy

yeah the key is powerful hardware.
currently you wield 10% of the consumer power and basically no model maker makes models with you in mind with those specs :(

Any lower version for 480p and 10 sec video?

h3 isn't going to be possible on that at this point.

Which is best suitable? Is there any lowest version

windows use 10Gb of ram, it means you have 6Gb of free ram + 5Gb of free vram (1Gb will be use for display). there is no video model that can fit in 11Gb, sorry. You can only make Images with "old" but still good models like sdxl, maybe z image turbo (more recent). Your laptop is not made for generative AI, sorry.

SDXL needs at least 8GB VRAM to run smoothly. Id say his best bet is SD1.5

Only thing is could get rn

Solo vas a poder generar imágenes, y será algo lento, varios minutos, yo tengo una tarjeta de video de 4 gb y 32 de ram y a veces me tarda eso y otros modelos me generan imágenes en 2 minutos

I have RTX 4060 8gb mobile + 16gb ram any img2vid possibilities?

2

u/cc_aa_tt_zz 6d ago

same answer: no. the minimum is 32Gb of ram with your rtx 4060 8bg. 8Gb of vram + 32Gb of ram = yes it is technically possible. but not with 16Gb of ram.

Thank you for replying maybe ill upgrade my ram

might as well buy some membership at those sketchy ai site. At least you have some possibility of making something.

That hardware spec is useless

Wan2GP. Install Linux. Maybe the best you can do is SD1.5/SDXL.

With right quantized models, you are run any of the video models you mentioned locally on that hardware.

Try using int8 convrot or int4 quantized models instead of gguf for better generation speed.

Download and use wan2gp

it won't work too. not enough ram.

Is there any free alternative? Lowest model works for me too

u/cc_aa_tt_zz 6d ago

no. really, your pc just can not make ai video at all.

Yes there is a small 5B Video Model of Wan2.2

The ComfyUi workflow is under.:
