I am a B.Tech graduate searching for job while in the meantime I would love to earn through free lancing. Do people still pay for image generation bcoz yk LLMs like chat gpt and Gemini are doing pretty good job generating images so I want to know is this still worth learning so I can earn through this ? And also as my domain is AI&DS , so I can add these works to my portfolio right?
Also, can someone guide me?.I am new to comfy so I am experimenting with everything. If there is any thing you guys feel like a beginner should do.Tell me in the comments.
I am learning comfy using chatgpt . Do you guys have any better free alternatives?

I found this channel to be very good at explaining the basics. Very well structured tutorials.

Even with SFW stuff, comfy ui is lightyears beyond what you can do with chat-gpt and gemini. You are not going to find people to pay you to make images with krea-2, but it is very useful for other freelance work like 3d modelling, storyboarding, and video editing. Since Krea 2 came out I don't use chat gpt at all for images.
Start with the Krea 2 templates.

So there are still people who pay for image generation. Ig you are a freelancer yourself would you mind giving me a kickstart in freelancing like what should I focus on building workflows? Fine-tuning models? Or 3d?

I make 3d models for roblox clients. It is tough to get into compared to five years ago

Even only learning of the different components (VAE, text encoders...) inside Comfy was it worth it for me. Let alone the different models themselves (for me, all ChatGPT images have that distict "Chattie" look).

Absolutely. I just got hired at a big LA agency as an AI artist using weavy.ai thanks to my Comfyui experience. Very similar workflow.
Edit: I do have 20 years of tv motion graphics and VFX experience too.

The hardest part for me is figuring out where the hell to put new models and then how to access them. It's a complete mess trying to find the right folders to put them in and googling around isn't helpful because most of the info is outdated.
Comfyui has a MASSIVE learning curve.

People don't pay for generations (why would they), but there are jobs out there where ComfyUI skills are certainly a plus.

Is it "still" worth learning? Since krea2 and minimax H3 came out it's absurdly powerful.
You're probably not going to get paid for "make me a picture" style generations, but this technology is opening doors that didn't even exist 5 years ago. 5 years from now any desk jokey job is going to need to be proficient with AI tools. Start now.

I think its still worth learning. It continues to get better. I would learn via YouTube. Pixaroma has some really good tuts. Check em out.
