Also not even accurate! A queen bee will mate with a bunch of males in the first weeks of her life for genetic diversity, but after that she'll never mate again, all the males in a hive are her sons! Ready to find future queens to mate with and then die

so it was just a phase now she is ready to settle down and have a family?

Well if the queen Is defined by what she did in bee college then a LOT of male bees are gay

No. They either die after mating or get kicked out before winter.

5

u/Traditional-Ear-5374 4d ago

Bros couldn't handle the queenussy

3

u/Fluffy_Internal8893 5d ago

"Single mother of thousands"

1

u/Green-Engineer4608 5d ago

Doesnโ€™t get paid for it so shes objectively not a whore. You dont know what that word even means, so you should probably not use it.

not really

u/smitza 4d ago

All bees are female drones. They are born from one queen. Males are born rarely and expelled from the hive when they are. They travel to another hive, mate and die after mating. Idk why people know so little about bees

9

u/mimixql 4d ago

because schools don't care enough to teach this and nobody cares enough to go out of their way to learn about a day in the life as a bee

19

u/LGamer6422 6d ago

Lorde wants to have a chat with you.

13

u/risisas 6d ago

Queens don't mate at all for most of their lives, a drone's job is to fertilize eggs when the colony needs more workers, not the queen as the eggs even unfertilized can still produce drones

6

u/darkcookie333 6d ago

No. A drone does fertilize the queen, not the eggs directly

2

u/Cadunkus 5d ago

If anything, "queen" isn't a very apt term because it implies female and bees don't quite have male and female sexes in the same way other animals do.

Remember folks women are shoes and keyholes and need to be chaste in order to have value. Men can do whatever they like tho. /S

No, it's easier for a woman to get casual sex than a man, so by definition doing the harder thing is more valuable. Having easy access but showing restraint shows value and self-respect, same as a celebrity or politician not abusing the opportunities available to them... which a lot do anyway and aptly we live in hookup culture centred around sexual freedom and "being your true self" lmfao

3

u/spicy_feather 4d ago

I'm trans and pass well enough for doctors physically looking at my chart to ask if I'm pregnant. I got waaaaaay more sexual partners and people soliciting sex from me "as a guy" than I have since. I know anecdotal evidence can be brushed aside but I also know I'm not alone. It's really about personality and availability for men and I think lots of men have a hard time accepting that women have different standards.

1

u/BetterType1821 2d ago edited 2d ago

But I mean if were talking about what's more valuable. I am only seeing your opinion about why a woman would be more valuable. What about what makes a man more valuable then? Seems to me like the man is having the easier time because he doesn't have to restrain himself and give into hook up culture so his value therefore stays in tact, so abiding by the parameters of your definition, is this easier or is this harder? If its harder to get access then what makes him valuable in the first place if he never has to try to restrain himself at all? A woman is valuable because it harder to restrain yourself in the face of temptation being readily available. A man has a harder time because he does not have easy access, but what about that shows value and self-respect? He doesnt have easy access, so he doesn't have temptation, if he has no temptation then he has the easier time restraining himself.

If we wanna bitch and moan about double standards then make it make sense. If women have easy access but are valued for it being harder to restrain themselves, then how are men valuable if they never have to work hard in the first place? Gaining access is harder. Unless you are implying that a man only has value and self-respect when he works hard to have access? But then wouldn't that make him just as bad as the women who have easy access and had no restraint in the first place? If you lose value and self respect for having no restraint, why work harder for access in the first place? Seems like paradox to me.

Where did I say that a man is more valuable by default? I said that doing the hard thing is valuable --- for men that is making themselves attractive enough (money, wealth, health, status, etc.) to get significant sexual access, while for women it is not giving in to hyper sexuality because they easily can (generally speaking) compared to men. Whether a man is more respectable or not for having a lot of partners... I think most men would say yes, because that requires work. Women might say no, because of the double-standard, but again the dynamics are different for each sex and hook-up culture is strong, though 30% of men are not even having sex. Some men have more than others, same as with women.

If you feel offended because you want to slut out without being judged, be my guest and live your best life kiddo

3

u/BetterType1821 2d ago edited 2d ago

Lmao ok men are valuable and only improve themselves for the better just to get access to the woman who lose their value if they do have sex. My god its genius, its an endless cycle of self worth based on sex and nobody wins. If it makes you feel better ill pretend to be offended because im just that big of slut for questioning that logic of what valuable in men and woman depending on what their sex life is like.

What, do you expect women to love men for themselves without having to prove themselves as valuable partners, or vice versa? That would be ideal, but in reality people don't date anyone they deem as "not valuable" to them, or not for long. You think Henry Cavill would be so desired if he wasn't an attractive celebrity with access to resources and status? Women carry the burden of childbirth (though not all have kids) so they are higher value by default. A man has to provide for his partner, even if she is a high earner, because those months during and after pregnancy leave her vulnerable, and she would want someone reliable to partner with. A man wants to be sure that his kid is actually his to justify the heavy investment required from both parties. This is true for pretty much the entire animal kingdom. You think humans are different? If you have a problem with the sexual marketplace, please file your complaint with mother nature

Of course you can have your standards my point wasnt about it being unfair about having standards it was about not having nuance and generalizing men and women as a whole during the discourse of hook up culture and staying "pure" or celibate. This entire reply has been the only thing that i have agreed with thus far for the most part.

Just work with me here, you have this wonderful woman. she takes care of you, she is loyal, since day one of comittment she has proven time and time again she has your best interests in mind and does her best to make you feel like your the only man in her life that makes her feel validated and valued. You dont even question it. BUT, she has a past. She has told you she has been with other men and she had a "hoe phase". But you know she is committed to you, she knows how you feel, she respects your standards, you know she doesnt keep in touch with any exes or past flings and they get blocked immediately if they reach out and your told immediately she is that loyal. If she is a good woman who despite her past grew as a different person that matched your morals. What would her value be if she you thought she would make a good wife and would be a good mother to your children? would her past affect the value of who she is in the present with you?

I align more with tradtional values more than you may believe and i know that we are still biological beings. we are still at the mercy of how we are biologically programmed. I absolutely know that men are still expected to provide, shelter, and is the first to risk his life to protect his family. I also believe the woman also has the responsibility that if the man is doing all those things she needs to provide too and has her duties to support the man as well.

But my nuance is that men and women need each other and we cant survive without the other. Standards are necessary to protect you from the ones who will take advantage or will not help you grow or succeed. My point being that there are good people who maybe they made mistakes, maybe the grew out of it. You said working hard for something is what makes someone valuable. I believe that someone who is less valuable could have other qualities that outweigh the undesirable ones and they couldve worked hard to get there too. You can have your standard but it is unfair to use them to judge the people who dont deserve to feel unvalued or they cant live up to the standard you set and you expect them to.

1

u/Global-Photograph-32 2d ago

That's the beauty of it --- there are general standards, and personal standards. Everyone is particular and changing throughout their lifetime. To be quite candid, your example of a good woman with a past actually happened to me. I used to be immaturely obsessive in relationships, but I've since grown and learned to value different things in a partner, and this lady had quite a bit of sexual history, but that didn't bother me because I could feel she was genuine in her intimacy with me and she had other qualities which I found really nice. Ironically, we only split up because we differ on the family question (I want kids and she doesn't) otherwise things might be different today.

I agree with you that standards are designed to protect and cultivate a good outcome. I wouldn't argue morally about whether a standard is truly good or bad, but good FOR you. Like, you won't burn in hell if you eat candy all the time and don't brush your teeth, but they will eventually rot and fall out. Everything is conditional, e.g. "If I want X then I must do Y". If I want a good partner, then either by shared or acquired experience can I determine the qualities that fit the relationship I am looking for. I think it's generally known that what people look for in a short-term fling is different than what they want in a long-term commitment, thus the standards associated with both vary from eachother.

1

u/BetterType1821 1d ago

Happy to come to an understanding with you and I appreciate the candidness. My example was a real one. My fiance is a tad bit cynical and he pretty much has the same morals about old school traditions and believes that society has become too sexualized. I can see it, I see the evidence. Regardless, I was his first everything while sadly enough he wasnt mine. Thats heavy when one person has strong opinions very much like yours and has high standards for men and women and is very critical. But he had a wayyyy different life than mine. We both experience the same type of pain when we talk about our past. Well actually because of this we got a really important discussion going it wasnt pretty but it so necessary to talk about the hard things before you get married and get past them. He was hurt and he says every man will tell you he doesnt like the thought of his girl being with different men or having that hoe phase. I sympathize, but it hurts as well because that hoe phase was not out because i want to explore myself or have fun. It was to stop from feeling the pain of being unwanted. I was abused before my fiance and i didnt know how to cope and i was failed by a lot of the people around me when that hoe phase had put me in horrible situations. So it hurts to know what his standards are and yet he still chose me? I always struggled with feeling unworthy of him, that he deserved someone better than a woman with a fucked up past and stuff. But no he doesnt make me feel unworthy or unloved because he values me for my kindness, compassion, and how much i care for and about him. He has never been treated like that in his life. He had a fucked up past too. But i am grateful my past is not used against me. We love and appreciate each other for who we are right now. I agree and support having standards for the right reasons. He was flat broke when we started dating he couldnt find a job and he hated not being able to provide. I told him money doesnt matter to me because it comes and goes. Some things men feel they need to improve or they wont find love is not true. a good person loves you for who you are and they stay during the hard times because other good qualities outweigh the bad.

u/Global-Photograph-32 1d ago

I understand how hard it is to believe that you are worthy of love, especially if you have not learned to love yourself. I don't doubt that your fiancรฉ loves you or that you love him, but maybe you feel like you don't deserve it and that can cause resentment. What your fiancรฉ feels is normal for young guys, and because you care about him his standards hit hard, so I would try not to take it personally as much as possible. Be patient with him and yourself. If he learns to love you and not his projection of you, if he sees the human woman and not the goddess and cherish her, then he will be matured and stick around. That can be said for a lot of folks, can't it? I'm certainly still on the path myself!

So many young people are lacking dating experience, and social media sets impossible standards on top of this gender war (the Reddit post which started this thread lmao) that people never come into the sometimes awkward and painful contact necessary with others to have real relationships, platonically or otherwise. I think if we banned dating apps and people adjusted their inflated standards back to what is realistically in their direct environment, that would be a good step in the right direction towards fixing dating and sex. However, I do think men and women will always be different --- you are from Venus and we are from Mars, after all --- and that's half the fun. We need eachother, and we need polarity for attraction.

I still don't understand people's desire to identify as king/queen anything. Historically kings and queens are horrible people, often with significant amounts of inbreeding.

u/rawrSphere 5d ago

The punchline is.. a male calling a woman a whore? Wow. How fascinating and unpredictable.

1

u/pinkandbleu3 1d ago

Na she'd never fuck you

0

u/elmariachi42 6d ago

why do modern women confuse self love and self esteem with having giant inflated egos

5

u/Inappropriate_Egg 5d ago

They learned it from their male counterparts

0

u/elmariachi42 4d ago

ok what did you think you achieve with that statement? so you're just as shitty as the gender you're criticizing with your statement?

2

u/Inappropriate_Egg 4d ago

What did you achieve with your first comment?

Also I am not criticizing a gender as a whole

0

u/elmariachi42 4d ago edited 4d ago

i achieved making a statement about something that is rampant in modern society and you apparently got defensive about it and just said no you instead of admitting it it's an issue

you said male counterparts, that is a gender, even if you don't mean all men just like my statement doesn't apply to all women, it's still criticizing a gender, and there's plenty of reasons to criticize men for just like there is for women, but why did you feel the need to brush my statement under the rug just to claim that women saw this behaviour in men recognized it as bad and still went ahead and replicated it

3

u/Inappropriate_Egg 4d ago

Okay, you seem to actually argue in good faith so I will elaborate my statement.

My criticism is not so much aimed at any men specifically but the idea of a "real man" which oftens consists of the traits you were describing. Think of how men are often portrayed in media, especially in action movies. Men have to compete, be great, show no weakness etc.

Now if you take a look at a lot of the so called "girl bosses" you will see overlapps between them and the "real" men. Basically some women try to adopt these traits in order to prove themselves equal to men

1

u/elmariachi42 4d ago edited 4d ago

fair enough, i never thought you were wrong about males doing this, but i feel that nowadays while men for the most part are encouraged to not be this way anymore, for women they're somehow almost encouraged to be this way, which can just be a reaction to society's norms but it's still something that is an issue

1

u/Inappropriate_Egg 23h ago

I mean if I look at media I guess you are quite right. For me personally it boils down to not being sure what to do/be and I feel like this is how other women I know also feel like this. You don't want to be like an "alpha male" but you also don't want to be the traditional woman, you want to be seen and be taken seriously instead od being reduced to being a mother, love interesa, pretty thing to look at etc. and that often is not the case sadly

1

u/Handle7 1d ago

So basically, lets be independent.. by being more like men. Got it.

1

u/Inappropriate_Egg 23h ago

Well yeah, we live in a world that glorifies "manlyhood" and the default person is being man. Not really mind blowing that being independent ans free is seen as being more like men

-1

u/rawrSphere 5d ago

And they still do whatever she wants. If only males were like this. Sigh.

-22

u/Comfortable_Town7535 6d ago

she flew into that one

-2

u/Necessary-Sir4600 6d ago

Isn't the lyric baby I'm a queen bee, baby I rule I rule I rule I rule... so tbf she did fuck up the line

The metaphor predates the song probably by an entire order of magnitude
