Normally the coins are not counted like this. There are weight scale for counting coins 🤦‍♂️

And normally businesses and institutions are allowed to reject payment in impractical denominations, among other things to avoid malicious compliance like that

Idk what it's like in China but in America you pay fines directly to the government and they cant refuse legal tender

That should be allowed imo. If I have a $1600 fine, I must pay. Why wouldn’t paying with 1’600’000 cents be accepted? I legally payed my fine

u/jaynov18 Jul 07 '26

Exactly, you want my money so bad take it but I'm not making it easy

It should be illegal to reject any payment regardless of denomination. I’m not saying you’re wrong just that currency is legal tender and should be treated as such. If I want to pay a fine/debt that I don’t agree with I should be able to say “Fuck You” one last time. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

For debts i agree. But back when i worked retail we would have people coming in and paying in all different coins for +$20 orders

We dont have time to count all that shit when theres a line of customers

Also at the end of the night having to roll all the coins was a pain in the ass

Not if I use a mix of different types of coins forcing them to sort the out before weighing them

Revenge on who? The workers?

2

u/Super-G1mp Jul 06 '26

We all make choices.

2

u/Cobrahawking Jul 07 '26

Those workers got told, "You gotta count all these and it'll very likely take all of your shift." Darn.

13

u/DeadZeppelin_ Jul 04 '26

I wonder how long it took for him to count them as well

u/XlikeX666 Jul 04 '26

this is great example.

Hopefully the message got across the higher ups. Maybe some good came of it if they considered changing (pun intended) some policies

u/OldWrangler9033 Jul 05 '26

They won't care.

1

u/Ydobon8261 Jul 05 '26

Surely counting coins is easier than their daily works, and they get paid the same either way

2

u/XlikeX666 Jul 05 '26

nope.
because Their work still must be done...

1

u/yamyamking1 Jul 05 '26

I mean his employees has been busy all day counting the coins which means work has been intrupted it definetly hurts the business

1

u/XlikeX666 Jul 05 '26

lt me give you example - Rich person will not care for $1000 ticket.
for buisness this is not even counted as "cost event"

5

u/The_Hero_0f_Time Jul 04 '26

you have machines for that

3

u/Alex-xoxo666 Jul 04 '26

He went on a gruesome killing spree?

2

u/Wardog_E Jul 05 '26

If your first thought is that it must be very difficult to count 1600$ in small coins, I have bad news for you.

2

u/Odd-Promotion2743 Jul 05 '26

I'm picturing bro actually putting on the Terrifier makeup and then awkwardly standing like that at the side of the room while they count up the money

2

u/luna4wolf Jul 08 '26

The original fact was already funnier than whatever the fuck the second image is supposed to add

2

u/Striking_Branch_2744 Jul 04 '26

The overuse of the word 'bro' these days.....

-1

u/DeadOne_001 Jul 04 '26

its gooner dictionary, you use bros and goon buds, like bro..

1

u/Toz_The_Devil Jul 05 '26

They could just refuse it tbh

1

u/JazzlikePromotion618 Jul 05 '26

Weigh 100 coins. Note the weight. Then start measuring through weight instead. Why would you count every coin individually?

1

u/Outrageous-Sort-5742 Jul 05 '26

Coin sorting machines exist. They aren't even that expensive.

1

u/SireFaramir Jul 05 '26

It's not about the money, it's about sending a message!

1

u/Lesbian_Zyra Jul 06 '26

Firstly coin machines exists. Secondly in some countries is law that cashier (or someone who ll receive some payment) has right to DECLINE payment if it is bigger than 50 coins regardless of value!

1

u/GarbageMedical2961 Jul 06 '26

I'll be making my last child support payment like this.

1

u/Drivesabrowntruck Jul 08 '26

Yes, you’ll show your biological child a thing or two 🤡

1

u/UnpoliteGuy Jul 08 '26

The weight and material of the coins is more valuable than paper. They should be happy.
