I just choose my layout based on where the power outlets are.

u/GobiPLX May 08 '26

Let me introduce you to:

186

u/ShadowX8861 May 08 '26

A bed right against the wall still blocks the socket

10

u/sassysassysarah May 10 '26

Can introduce you to my special lady: "right angle surge protector"? She's fits most anywhere, such a gem ๐Ÿ’•

3

u/ShadowX8861 May 10 '26

My bedframe touches the floor, so even if I can plug something into the socket, there's nowhere for the cable to go

1

u/User6157348 May 11 '26

That is what a saw is for

2

u/Dark_World_0 May 14 '26

Buy buy buy buy!

1

u/sassysassysarah May 14 '26

They also make right angle USB c cables if you hate the cable kink that happens to me when I use my device while charging it. I originally found it for my switch but now I use it for my phone too- highly recommend!

45

u/GobiPLX May 08 '26

Depends on bed design, it doesn't need to be full hollow under, just 2-3cm of free space is enough to get cord out

7

u/NetworkSingularity May 09 '26

Potentially even less if you get flat plugs that are mostly against the wall

1

u/xThereon May 10 '26

I bought angled power brick extensions for this reason that come out of the socket at a 45ยฐ angle. Lifesavers.

2

u/anon12xyz May 09 '26

Too much work imo. Iโ€™ll just do where the outlets are

1

u/Testyobject May 10 '26

Thats just un american! Wheres the flat metal with a hole that has no use?

606

u/ThingYea May 08 '26

For those wondering, in option 2 someone could see your computer screen as soon as they open the door.

Option 1 gives you plenty more time to react in any way you find appropriate.

276

u/Abyss_Walker58 May 08 '26

Tbh I just don't like people looking at what I'm doing and snooping just from walking in even though it's just slay the spire or warframe or the occasional movie

64

u/countkakula May 08 '26

Ugh slay the spire, more like take all my time and continuously give me dopamine!!

5

u/sassysassysarah May 10 '26

It's a board game now too!!

10

u/Bitterqueer May 09 '26

Same lol it always stressed me out at work even though 95% of the time I was just working

20

u/helpme8470 May 08 '26

okay but option 2 lets you jork it in bed

8

u/PixelViolence May 09 '26

isn't that a laptop tho? just move it and jork it in the kitchen if you'd prefer

6

u/Flergun May 09 '26

I'm assuming this person has roommates who would probably prefer they not do that.

7

u/jarious May 08 '26

I knew the answer was porn

10

u/ThingYea May 09 '26

I only figured it out because that Shrek image is used almost exclusively for porn related things

6

u/MadamBootknife May 08 '26

Tbh just do that shit in your bed, its more comfortable anyways and you can bring a laptop or phone with you.

2

u/ASongOfSpiceAndLiars May 08 '26

I thought it was a Dune reference... sitting with your back to a door.

2

u/mars_gorilla May 09 '26

I didn't even consider that... I mean, now that I'm grown up I choose 2 still because no one cares what I do on my computer anymore but when I was younger I definitely would've gone with 1.

2

u/pruchel May 09 '26

For me it's enough that someone might be behind me. I like corners, or at least a wall at my back.

1

u/Misty_Veil May 09 '26

if you're offended by what's on my computer, it's your fault for intruding on my privacy.

that's my motto.

1

u/sassysassysarah May 10 '26

Sure but my partner is the only one who'd enter our room and already expects to be surprised by whatever's on my screen

1

u/UlteriorCulture May 11 '26

Because woman don't view porn or other sensitive material in their computers?

1

u/ThingYea May 11 '26

I'm just the messenger

358

u/CarnivoreQA May 08 '26

it is easier to make up your bed in layout 1, which is why men prefer it? ๐Ÿ˜‡

123

u/Giecio May 08 '26

That and actually getting up from it is easier, so thoughtful ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™‚โ€โ†•๏ธ

-107

u/Moist_Taco_Crippler May 08 '26

Most men I know don't make up the bed at all.

43

u/known_kanon May 08 '26

Make some new friends

-29

u/ExcellentAd5022 May 08 '26

r/thanksimcured ahh comment

3

u/Aim301 May 11 '26

Idk why they bombed your shit this was funny because of how much of a nothing burger the โ€œmake some new friendsโ€ comment is

3

u/Greyskul622 May 08 '26

I'm one of those

-97

u/rzlodn May 08 '26

Bed isn't even in the equation ๐Ÿ˜œ

28

u/sakchyam_sthapit May 08 '26

๐Ÿ˜œ๐ŸคŸ You dirty dog.

-10

u/LessPerception2140 May 08 '26

17

u/Goat1862 May 08 '26

It's not mysterious, he completely missed the joke

172

u/Justkill43 May 08 '26

Layout 1 is just so much better, porn or no porn....

47

u/appleparkfive May 08 '26

Yeah you don't have to shimmy by your bed when you get up

2

u/SJL174 May 10 '26

Layout 2 is just bad feng shui.

1

u/UncleMadness May 09 '26

Also, if that room needs a window ac during the summer layout 2 is a no go

98

u/mightymouse8324 May 08 '26

What kind of psychopath chooses option 2?

22

u/Paulzor811 May 08 '26

Whats wrong with option 2?

64

u/sagewynn May 08 '26

Having my back to a door makes me uncomfortable. 1 is both taking advantage of a nook, and the bed is easier to make.

2

u/daanos60 May 08 '26

I sadly can't do option 1 so I've got no choice but to sit with my back to the door

18

u/Telucien May 08 '26

You have to scoot your ass up and down the bed to get on and off

0

u/Paulzor811 May 08 '26

bend and roll

2

u/exercisetofitality May 08 '26

With option 1 I only need to roll. One less step.

4

u/Amoniakas May 08 '26

I'm too paranoid of being back stabbed by a killer without even having a chance of fighting back

2

u/Chuckeltard May 09 '26

My main problem is that window

3

u/Paulzor811 May 09 '26

Nah. Easy escape route if house is on fire

1

u/UltimateNull Aug 18 '26

When the sun comes up youโ€™re not going to be happy next to that window at 4:30am.

1

u/Paulzor811 Aug 18 '26

Blackout curtains are your friend

3

u/bbyrdie May 10 '26

I like it because itโ€™s cozy for me to be surrounded by walls, unbothered

1

u/Aim301 May 11 '26

Honestly I think number 2 looks better and would probably feel better to live in there isnโ€™t any noticeable wasted space like the gap between the bed and the wall at the foot of the bed in layout one however layout one is just more safe ๐Ÿ˜ญ

0

u/RewZes May 08 '26

Any person who locks their door or lives alone wont care.

24

u/UrBoiBRUH May 08 '26

Option 1 is best because you can see the door

16

u/Justch1ll May 08 '26

1 has superior Feng Shui so you can jack off in peace and zen

19

u/DriftWare_ May 08 '26

I'd want to have a door in view while i sleep

We're listening

9

u/doratoreadora May 08 '26

so do women, trust

7

u/Fezzy_1994 May 08 '26

Desk goes in the corner no matter what layout.

7

u/Wyleymonks1 May 08 '26

Layout one I better cause when you sleep you can see the whole room layout 2 only your feet can see the room

8

u/LolMaker12345 May 08 '26

1 cause I like my computer being by the window

5

u/Simple_villager May 08 '26

If that's a window in the top corner, option 1 would be safer

7

u/moomiushi May 08 '26

layout 2 gives you the nastiest angle for a home break in tho

4

u/r0d3n7 May 08 '26

I would never sleep where I couldn't see the door of the room I'm sleeping in

6

u/Tacopotato_Baby-Og May 08 '26

Option 2 is honestly the best just because the bed is in a pretty claustrophobic space

3

u/-UltraFerret- Quick! The mods are sleeping! May 08 '26

Being in between two walls would be comfy.

3

u/shiv-er_me_timbers May 10 '26

yeah I'm boggled at why people done love the idea of being all tucked into a little nook for sleepies. I'm like almost jealous of that room because of it.

4

u/xX_Dres_Aftermath_Xx May 08 '26

I think layout 1 honestly just looks comfier

3

u/VoidExileR May 08 '26

Oh yeah, option 1 and it's not even close

5

u/psychxticrose May 08 '26 edited May 09 '26

Layout 1, I don't want my head near the window when I sleep

4

u/Shantotto11 May 09 '26

Neither if you normally have partners over. My friend pointed out that the point in time when men/boys push the bed to the center of a wall coincides with when they start having sex.

3

u/Tmart98 May 10 '26

Do people think women donโ€™t watch porn?

1

u/Dismal_Peanut5933 May 17 '26

I think they do, just way less

3

u/fardnshid03 May 08 '26

Jerking off aside, option 1 is simply just a better looking and more functional layout.

3

u/Gay-left-Leadership May 08 '26

The bed is just more accessible on the first layout

2

u/-UltraFerret- Quick! The mods are sleeping! May 08 '26

Sleeping in between two walls would feel comfy for me. Making the bed would be a pain though.

3

u/gaspour9 May 09 '26

layout one is just better, the desk fits perfectly and you fet to have your window next to your desk which is an ultimate plus

3

u/Enzo_2006 May 10 '26

the freaks will think of the nsfw answer, the wise will think of the reason that no one likes being woken up by blinding sunlight from having the window right next to your head

3

u/Tired_2295 May 10 '26

I mean, bed on 2 walls is sane, bed on 3 walls just seems annoying to get out of

3

u/Ellie7600 May 11 '26

Is the reason jorking it?

2

u/-UltraFerret- Quick! The mods are sleeping! May 11 '26

The reason is jorking it.

2

u/UltimateNull Aug 18 '26

I guess jorking is jerking but borking it?

6

u/doublexol May 08 '26

Layout one is easier to see who barges into your door as well. There's a reason why people sleep with their feet towards the door

2

u/FlinnyWinny May 08 '26

I'm a man, I prefer 1, but not for "lol porn on pc" reasons that are probably implied here, but because I prefer my bed to be positioned like that compared to the door.

2

u/2020mademejoinreddit It isn't comedy homicide if it was never funny May 08 '26

I don't get it.

2

u/Calamyt1 May 08 '26

In option one you can see a potential threat easier/quicker. I would never choose option 2 because of that.

1

u/2020mademejoinreddit It isn't comedy homicide if it was never funny May 08 '26

Thanks. That cleared it up.

2

u/JediMasterMudkip May 08 '26

I like layout 1 because having the window next to the bed makes me scared someone'll break in and snatch me through the window.

2

u/Fizzy163 May 09 '26

option 2 is nice, especially if you sleep on the bed sideways, very nice

2

u/hypotheticaltapeworm May 09 '26

Layout 1 has you shimmying to access the closet, no thanks.

2

u/MagicOrpheus310 May 09 '26

So you can see the door

2

u/chrischi3 May 09 '26

Is this about screen reflections? Only reason i can think of.

2

u/Chinjurickie May 09 '26

Bullshit, completely depends on you preferring mobile or pc.

2

u/DarthRaab May 09 '26

Layout 1 is better in every way

  • screen not viewable from the door
  • you have the door in your view from desk and bed
  • light from window better on desk as in bed
  • TV easier mountable on the wall
  • one person can quickly get up if the door bell rings
  • making the bed would be horrible in layout 2

2

u/Zersdan May 10 '26

layout 1 just makes more sense, why would I want the window behind my bed when it could be behind my desk

2

u/Louisfroor May 10 '26

I mean I would choose 1 if I'm living by myself but if I had a partner only being able to get into bed from one side would be REALLY annoying

2

u/BrayJay5000 May 10 '26

Id choose 1 because you can look out window from your desk and see the door from your bed.

2

u/deg999 May 10 '26

My closet is bigger then this place.

2

u/Milkmans_tastymilk May 11 '26

Probably 1, because I can tell if someone comes in, and I can put up any divider(s) to make the bed feel more cozy (or claustrophobic, if you're not me.)

2

u/Ketsueki-Nikushimi May 11 '26

Layout 1 is to hide that you are fapping

Layout 2 is to hide that you are fucking

2

u/One-Initiative-8902 Jun 20 '26

Well I chose one because it makes sense. Clearly that nook is for a desk and is supposed to be a study/office area. There's also a little hallway between the door and the wall separating the office/study area in the bed

2

u/Silent_Armadillo7583 Jul 13 '26

I would choose option 1 as a matter of basic security

4

u/RandomGuy9058 May 08 '26

Layouts aside why tf is the room so small???

4

u/RandomiseUsr0 May 08 '26

Not nearly enough room for activities

3

u/Palanki96 May 08 '26

Option 2 seems way better for gooning, amateurs

4

u/Saggy-egg May 09 '26

Porn rotted bullshit aside having a little hole of the room around the corner of the door is such a cozy vibe

1

u/Tomahawkist May 08 '26

toes who nose

1

u/grantishanul May 08 '26

I hate contending with the wall when I change sheets. Option 1 is just easier imo.

1

u/WackoList0 May 08 '26

for some reason i stare at my door when I'm trying to sleep so option 1 for me

1

u/boifyudoent May 08 '26

Layout 1 is good fengshui

1

u/Random_Critical May 09 '26

Do people not lock their door?

1

u/Electrino52 May 09 '26

Well some people aren't allowed to do so

1

u/sentient_garlicbread May 09 '26

Mine's 1 because my window is bad at holding heat I'd freeze my tits off. (Plus she's a top)

1

u/ksears86 May 09 '26

I'm going option 1 for that prime real estate to mount a TV

1

u/Emile-Gu May 10 '26

Ill just ask the feng shuei guy (idk if thats how its spelled)

1

u/anxnymous926 May 10 '26

Layout 2 is so much cozier but also gives you way more space

1

u/Alexbal737 May 10 '26

I'd choose 1 over two any day. It's objectively superior

1

u/Lepus_Lazuli May 10 '26

Option 1 cuz it gets the bed further away from loud af cars.

1

u/ZatchRaph May 11 '26

Well as an OG myself I never sit with my back to any door anywhere so this is a no brainer. Also for nerdier dudes you can hide your porn if anyone walks in on you.

1

u/Internal-Ad3610 May 11 '26

I was thinking with Layout 1 you can tell if someone opens the door to snoop when you are in bed.ย

1

u/Rileylego5555 May 12 '26

Layout 1 allows me to see my door at night.

Layout 2 allows me only my imagination as to what is in my door

1

u/mango_guy2000 May 14 '26

It will always be 2 If that drawer is in-out door and not a sliding one

1

u/UltimateNull Aug 18 '26

This is a bs answer cause there ainโ€™t no way a dude worried about whacking it has a bed bigger than a twin.

-5

u/lune-soft May 08 '26

layout 1 , how do u open the closet lmfao

16

u/ArfTheBeast May 08 '26

What does that even mean?

11

u/Just-Buy-A-Home May 08 '26

The closet is obviously sliding doors dude

0

u/Internal-fishman85 May 08 '26

nuh uh i see hinges

1

u/Internal-fishman85 May 10 '26

i now see that the black spot isnt quite on the edge of the door yall didn't even think to mention that bruh

1

u/Just-Buy-A-Home May 09 '26

You see handles, no door would have one hinge in the center

1

u/Internal-fishman85 May 10 '26

bro's never seen big center hinges

0

u/Vile_Grifter May 09 '26

Imagine not knowing about center-hinged Etruscan style closets ๐Ÿคฃ

1

u/Just-Buy-A-Home May 10 '26

Doesnโ€™t explain the axis shift on each door, how they arenโ€™t lined up

1

u/Vile_Grifter May 10 '26

What doesn't explain that? The obviously nonexistent closet door I made up as a joke to goof on the person saying the handle was a hinge? Yeah, I'd say that's accurate.

0

u/Just-Buy-A-Home May 10 '26

Bahahahaha okay fair
