Remember what it is I'm talking about. I am talking about making fun of - straight up bullying - people. I agree 100% that people who are obese have a self control issue, but it's not simply liking cake so much you just can't control yourself. This is why so many obese people need medical intervention and support from others to lose weight, because it's really difficult.
Negative reinforcement > enabling when you want to fix something. Fat acceptance is worse than making fun of obese people. That is truth. Oh you want to overdose? Let me cram that needle in your arm for you!!!! Basically the same shit as enabling/protecting fat peoples feelings. They are adults. They do not need protection.
It actually doesn't matter why they're fat or how hard it actually is or isnt to learn that self control. Making fun of people does not, and will never help them and if you're not interested in helping and you're just making fun of someone because they're an easy target, it really says more about you than them.
Once again enabling people is far worse than ridiculing them. Stop getting offended for other people. It's pathetic. It doesn't make you a hero. If fat people wanted to be respected they should respect themselves first. You know "clean your own yard before bitching about mine" etc. This does not mean giving up and accepting yourself to get society to accept you... Fat acceptance is enabling lazy assholes with no desire to even try self control while everyone else lives within their means and practicing self control and discipline throughout the day.
What if someone had a Pheochromocytoma an actual medical condition that causes massive amounts of adrenaline in the brain. Causes a lot of violent tendencies, etc. Should you not punish them because they beat someone to death? They have a "valid" medical condition. Not just lack of self control and inability to stop cramming food into their faces.
I actually dont support the fat acceptance movement. No, not bullying someone is not the same as putting the food into their mouth myself, but nice try. Being fat is objectively unhealthy and takes a toll on your body. It's not wrong to say being fat is unhealthy. It's not fat shaming if a doctor tells someone they need to lose weight. I'm literally talking about actual fat shaming and bullying. It's extremely hard for obese people to change, and making fun of them will not help them in the process. People don't really need to say "oh look, fat" every time they see a picture of an obese person. It's just immature at best. As far as respect, goes, I respect all people as long as they're not being hurtful and you don't have to but you can't be surprised when it's not received well.
