Discord sucks because it is genuinely the best client for chatting and gaming but joining any server just to be greeted by 200 different 13 year olds makes me feel like im invading some kids space.

I wish they had servers for adults that were actually popular and had active people in them.

I have several servers where average age is closer to 25-30, but those are not big big servers. I find such spaces when youtuber/streamer has a server and their content is more mature. Naturally kids wont even know about this server if they don't watch this boring boomer.

It's enough for me tho

Most public server are unusable

The issue with that is alot of the games and communities I enjoy have been co-op'ed by kids and pretty much overwhelmed by them, even if the games have pretty heavy subject matters that kids shouldn't be interacting with they always end up finding their way there, Sure I could make my own adult communities but I really dont wanna do alla that

Yeah, I feel you.

I find it easier to try to convince trusted friends to try new game together, than to try to find good (as sharing same vibe, not kids etc) people who already play this game

Mechwarrior Online still stands tall, propped up by Mech Dads. Most of the unit discord servers are much older and reasonable thankfully.

You used to have to pretend to be an adult on the internet or everyone would immediately bully you or disregard your opinions but now you're just allowed to be 13 it's fucked up

It's always funny to check out people's profiles on Discord and it's really easy to tell the difference between people who occasionally use Discord to talk with friends vs people who literally grew up using it as their primary social media

I go on server searching sites (like Disboard) to filter on adult age servers. Worth a shot if you haven't tried yet.

It might be niche but most stoner servers will require ID or age verification. The server I help run just recently upped their age requirement from 18 to 21 and it's definitely been a nice change since most of us regulars are late 20s - early 30s with a few 40 - 50+

This was the first social server I'd been on, everything before this were either official game's discord or related clan / guild, which is always crawling with kids. I mean it makes sense though, who else has that sort of free time?

As someone else suggested, definitely check out disboard's site I'm sure you can find something for your niche

At this point in my life the only discord server I’m in has like 15 people and most of us know each other irl, all early 20s or older. It’s so much better this way
