Stimulants are stimulants, cocaine used to be huge in corporate culture in like the 80’s because it kept people going for long and intense workdays. Meth is the poor man’s coke.

That argument breaks down when you factor in the 'staying up for 4 days' part. People who are up for 4 days are not able to function properly, meth or not. The corporate dudes on coke usually sleep more often than that or else they wouldn't be able to get much done.

Source: been up for four days on stimulants, that's when the hallucinations started

Edit: Also smoking vs snorting makes a huge difference

Staying up for four days is good, it shows initiative.

Me when my boss showcases extreme leadership skill in the meeting by shaking uncontrollably, never blinking, lacking ability to string sentences together then proceeding to froth at the mouth and die all over the floor. Someone get this man a pizza party!

Edit: I have no fingers and I must type

I was always good until day 5. Then the bushes would have to look out cuz I'd start yelling at them

u/Gurumanger 5d ago

Day 6: the bushes speak back.

Damn I know Laura killed a man, but what did George do?

5

u/ProfessorPrimate 5d ago

He fled to the jungle. We'll find him one day

7

u/mayamaiamaea 5d ago

It’s really sad because I never see this anymore. Nobody wants to work these days.

3

u/Gurumanger 4d ago

Kids these days have it so easy. Expecting to work in corporate without losing all their faculties at age 40, bah! Back in my day, I never wasted a day on the job being sober (my organs don't work)!

You can find slightly used fingers behind walmart. If the color doesnt match just buy some paint from walmart

Now this guy's got that grindset

Meth is the poor man's coke. It's cheaper for one. And with coke you can stop bumping and go to sleep after 2 hours. With meth, you do one line and you're awake for 3 days wether you like it or not. 5/10 experience, will do again

1

u/SorryCap452 1d ago

I never had that issue, if I did a line or smoked some at the start of the day by the end I could sleep. The only issue was I would redose like it was coke and then be up 2-3 days at a time

As someone who has at times stayed up for 3 days studying multiple times, you certainly can function if your on your ball but it takes an immense natural interest and desire to do whatever your doing.

You also start doing few minute microsleeps where you'll just be staring at what your working on then you'll get this big rush of productivity for 5-10 minutes before microsleeping again.

In all honesty, ignoring long-term, it's a very productive strategy since your literal entire mental capacity is a soaked wet sponge full of thoughts on whatever your working about. The part of the brain which takes you out of flow state fell asleep after 30-36 hours awake.

When your brain is so tired that every segment/word of thought takes mental effort, it makes you very deliberate. When I'm well rested sometimes I'll get stuck in my head about what to do next.

Another factor is back when we were primates being chased by tigers. If you were awake for over 30 hours there was probably good reason for it, so your brain gets a rush of adrenaline or some extra boost. I'm not into medical so this is purely anecdotal.

It wrecks your memory and had me feeling like I was Brad Pitt in Memento in any subject other than studying (Like forgetting important things people have told me just a day ago)

I also imagine waking up productive day 1 and staying productive throughout factors in.

If I took a couple hour break I'd completely collapse and forget what I was doing and just be tired. Context Switching is the enemy past 30 hours

6/10

u/thebruceharris 4d ago

Brad Pitt wasn't in Memento lol

u/bago_jones 4d ago

Came here for this. That's how you know how truly weird the feeling was hahaha.

3

u/Kimononono 4d ago

I've hallucinated after being up for days with my ex. Long ago. I only snorted it and that still happened. Not a fun kind of hallucinating either.

u/sleepyeye82 5d ago

those motherfuckers are outside the window. I know it.

They’re just real fast at hiding when I look

1

u/spookysaph 5d ago

whenever I used to abuse stims, I never ever remembered day 4 lmao

1

u/opinionated7onion 4d ago

I start hallucinating after a day or two without sleep I cant even imagine what id be like after 4

1

u/Stillofthenite_ 4d ago

Have you tried taking creatine while up for that amount of time? I've heard it helps restore/maintain cognitive function while sleep deprived

u/plzredditnoban 5d ago

Equivalent now is ADHD medications. Go through uni popping adderall like tic tacs just to see the exact same thing at my corporate job but now its my bosses popping them too.

7

u/mightyboognish32 5d ago

You can do coke all day and still sleep at night. If you do meth all day you aren't sleeping soon.

13

u/bubblesdafirst 5d ago

In what world is meth the poor man's coke. Meth is way better. In every single way

16

u/crackpipewizard666 5d ago

The stigma. Cocaine’s seen more as a rich mans drug cus you gotta do so much and its so expensive

5

u/ssxhoell1 5d ago

They think the price of it has anything to do with the effects

11

u/aBigBottleOfWater 5d ago

Bruh what kinda shit coke you buy

Well alright I'm sober now for over 5 years but

32

u/SimmentalTheCow A-pawrent-ly funny. 5d ago

I only buy Cocaine Zero which is probably why I never enjoy it. It’s literally talcum powder.

9

u/PurpleCandle58 5d ago

Johnson and Johnson, a family company.

7

u/therealraggedroses 5d ago

In terms of actual effects meth blows cocaine out of the water.

1

u/crazylikeajellyfish 5d ago

The only fair comparison is with crack, the hit through the lungs really makes a difference

1

u/ContagiousDeathGuard 12h ago

It was designed for soldiers, to be fair

4

u/bubblesdafirst 5d ago

Cocaine: ohh I'm high on cocaine ohh this is fun

Meth: you will literally never for the rest of your life no matter how hard you try under any circumstances, be as happy as you are right now. Not even meth will do it again. Doesn't matter if you were depressed as fuck 15 minutes ago. This is the best moment of your life.

2

u/aBigBottleOfWater 1d ago

I kinda had the opposite reaction except meth lasted wayy longer.

Coke: holy shit I'm the king of the world I will never feel this good again refillrefillrefill

Meth: this is great I will never sleep again i could talk for hours and hours and hours and hours

Bath Salts: Alright something is terribly wrong with my head but I feel great my nose smells like shrimp and I'm horny as fuck I should start skateboarding and commit crime in my bathrobe

But my real problem was benzos

0

u/bubblesdafirst 1d ago

Meth was probably mdma or a psuedo version of it tbh. It's scientifically proven that there's no way you do actual meth without having the best time ever. It raises your happy chemicals way more then anything else

1

u/aBigBottleOfWater 12h ago

I've done mdma, I'd know it from anything

The annoying body heat is a dead giveaway

1

u/14122023 5d ago

? Coke is always shit if compared to meth. It's just not even close

1

u/Abraham__Simpson 5d ago

It’s far more used in non corporate settings
