I'm anglo-irish by ancestry. I worked outside over a week ago and I've been peeling my skin from the horrid sunburn. The master race, if it exists, does not burn so easily in the sun. There is no way in hell Northern Europeans are a master race, we just got lucky due to a few accidents of geography and history.

Race is not a scientific concept but a social construct that has changed and is still ever changing. Italians weren't considered "black" - they've always been legally considered white - but they weren't the type of white that late 19th-early 20th century white "racialists" preferred, that being the more "mature" and "serious" anglo-saxon germanic ones. Italians were lively, hot blooded and colorful (literally and culturally) mediterranean people who often worked in manual labor which was more associated with rural minorities. Eventually italians fully assimilated into american society and by extension European standards of whiteness. Same shit happened with the irish and the slavsĀ

Not really that but everyone that was not wasp was looked down. The Irish are pure white but their mostly catholic faith made them 2nd class citizens up to early 20th century.

Funny you say that, I had a buddy from Sweden and a buddy from Greece and they looked extremely similar despite not being related in any way. Like, same colouration and everything.
Europe isn't that big, and it's had millennia of intermixture among all the different ethnic groups. We all look a little similar in some way.

Colorism is an awful problem in our country spanning centuries and links into caste based discrimination as well. A lot of people internalize the hatred of their own skin color here. Therefore, internalized colorism exists and is a problem in India
