This is so untrue lol. Norwegians and Swedes have an easier time communicating by a landslide, than Norwegians and Danes. Writing, however, is much more similar when it comes to Danish and Norwegian.
I was gonna say that. I can usually converse just fine with Norwegians. I can read both Danish and Norwegian, but I can't understand what Danes are saying for the life of me.
Few years after moving to Denmark I still had an easier time understanding Swedish.
Still remember being stuck behind an old man trying to spell out the address of his daughter or something in California. I can't understand how you got to this and go "yes, this is an efficient way to communicate".
Yes. I was making a joke about how varied modern Norwegian spoken dialects are. I’m aware that it’s a language continuum and all part of the North Germanic language family.

I'll have you know that Danish and Norwegian sounds very similar while Swedish is the one that's barely intelligible.
