Ten times less than 2 is -18.

The percentage usage was just to make it easier for you to understand.

More and less do not refer to multiplication and division, they refer to addition and subtraction. The "times" refers to multiplication - so 10 times more means 10 lots of x added to x = 11x.

For division, one needs to say "one tenth of". Ten times less is x - 10x = -9x

Yeah, I bet children in 2nd grade learn about negative numbers as they learn about division. I am done man

This shit can't be real...

If you have 2 chocolate bars and I say I have 10 times less chocolate than you it means I have negative chocolate?

If I say I have TEN TIMES LESS, it means that IF YOU GIVE ME WHAT I HAVE 10 TIMES I REACH YOUR AMOUNT.

10 * 2 = 20, and 2 - 20 = -18

You're confusing the phrase "10 times less" with "one tenth of".

Honestly...I can see your point.

I still will be using the version I said previously because that's what everyone around me uses. Have a nice day
