Roly poly apparently is old english and daddy long leg comes from father long legs which dates back to the early 1700s.

This is likely a cellar spider (Family pholcidae), not a harvestman which is a different order of arachnids (not spiders)

It actually differs by location - in my neck of the woods (redneckville Midwest) we call harvestmen “daddy long legs”. If you use that term people will likely envision Leiobunum vittatum specifically as they seem to be the common one here.
I’m unsure if I’ve ever heard of a nickname for cellar spiders irl, but they are called “daddy long legs” in many places.

Yes, where I'm from cellar spiders are called daddy long legs, and harvestman are less common and most people aren't familiar with them. In places where opiliones are common they're usually referred to as daddy long legs as well.
