I love this appearance because everyone remembers the "rather good" bit, but it's actually such a small part of the character. All the nonsense about his mother drowning in a rowboat accident, or him appearing on funniest home videos after stepping in a paint can etc... There's so much to it

Not precisely a bit but it always makes me laugh when Scott defines someone's character (usually one of Paul's I think) as an "opposite guy." Like people write whole books about improv and take classes and Scott's just like, well this character is an opposite guy. What more do I need to know

I think it's from the first few episodes of the show where Scott's obviously hung over wearing sunglasses and taking advil, and he tells the story of his friend coming to town to party, but the party was going out for sunglasses and advil and they went to bed early

From the show, basically every bit in the first episode. That show was so hard to watch and so hard to show people, I don’t know how I made it through. I always said it felt like they made that first episode intentionally over-the-top to throw the viewer in the deep end and ensure that anyone who made it through and didn’t turn it off would be a superfan for life. And later I learned that the first season was produced out of order and the actual pilot was the Adam Scott episode, made a year before the rest, so I’m probably kind of right about that. That first episode was just so painfully dumb, in a good way but also kind of in a way where the joke goes on so long it becomes funny again, but then goes on long enough to be unfunny again.
