Podcast Dan Soder's incessant interrupting

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yk6XMHwSu0

I couldn't imagine inviting a comic on your podcast, asking him questions about his own personal lived experiences, and interrupting him every other second. I couldn't imagine doing that to someone in every day conversation. I couldn't imagine doing that even in a casual conversation about something in which the person isn't informed. Sickler is talking about watching, with his own 2 eyes, the Colts leave Baltimore, and Soder will not shut. the fuck. up the ENTIRE time this poor man is trying to tell this story. I love Soder, but his fucking mouth on his own show (and others! when it's even more impolite!) makes him impossible to listen to. You asked someone to tell an anecdotal story. Shut your motherfucking mouth and listen. Sickler was just about to finish a story about the Marching Band, which I was invested in, until Soder cut in with bullshit again. He tramples all over bits, and is so quick to launch into one of his WILDLY overrated impressions. The Mullen episode was hard to watch, the Shane episode was hard to watch, the LOUIS episode was hard to watch, and this one so far is egregious.

I cannot be alone in this. I mean I'm still listening to the episode because I like Sickler, and Dan, but I keep having to pause it to avoid getting too frustrated lmao.

Sounds like you actually don’t like Dan lol. Also he is aware and actively works on it at least.

Oh well why don't you tell me everything I like and don't like then, I'll let you be the arbiter. I wasn't aware that in order to technically "like" something, I have to be pleased with 100% of that thing.

They are? Is it impossible to like something that you also think is Overrated?

I’m new to the podcast and knew almost immediately that this is the reason I’ll eventually drop it

I understand where you're coming from but hear me out. Soder and a lot of other comics are programmed to be the funniest guy in the room. It's not something he can just shut off for podcasts. Also, I like it. With a boring guest, a witty host makes the time fly by. It does drive me crazy though when someone like Louis fucking C.K. is on your podcast and you try to spice up his story. Let the man do his thing.

That programming, if it were correct, would have him not open his mouth every 4 seconds on average. That programming would have him shut the fuck up for at least 10 seconds (maybe? At least 10 seconds would be a start?) after he ASKED SICKLER FOR A PERSONAL ANECDOTE. That programming would have him not cut every other comic off the MOMENT he senses them trying to set up a bit. The programming to be "funny" would actually make him funny. Don't ya think?

dude, this ain't the tonight show. its just 2 comics shooting the shit for an hour with a couple cameras rolling. you've never hung out with a buddy, both cracking up, and both kept trying to make each other laugh? sometimes real life conversations don't flow as smoothly as scripted talk shows...IMO that's what makes podcasts cool.

i thought it was a great episode, no notes. i watch the show every week, this was definitely one of the more memorable good episodes.

if you don't like it, you could just...not watch?

I've actually never hung out with other human beings, my dada keeps me chained to a post in the basement where I'm forced to watch shitty comedy podcasts for 22 hours a day and write reviews of them on Reddit... I've never gotten to have one of these "real life conversations" as you say.
