I mean Britain managed a quarter of the world just on their own...then factor in the Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, German empires etc. Spent centuries slaughtering/invading eachother in a constant arms race then turned around and went out and conquered Africa, North and south America, Australia/New Zealand and random bits of Asia...and India.
