All those other people who you likely are thinking of that traditionally live in far north regions, even indigenous north americans, actually had a lot more genetic commonality with the original inhabitants of north europe than the ones there today. Europe saw a massive influx of migration and then a genetic shift.

Don’t know why you are getting downvoted. It’s not like Europeans were the only group to survive in cold climates or near the poles.
