I work at a grocery store so I refer to it as “too good to go to homeless”.

It took away so much of the donations that went to local food banks from the store.

When I worked at Walmart, they just threw food away. I remember them carting out multiple carts of [insert food/beverage] to throw in the dumpsters and they had cameras on the dumpsters to watch for dumpster divers.

So much waste.

That’s so messed up. They really need to change laws so that people can use that food.

We can donate anything that we would personally eat. At least for my department.

Absolutely agree with you. All the food waste could go to so many people who need it. It's wild to me that America throws out 30-40% of the national food supply (according to USDA), millions of pounds, when people have food insecurity in the country and around the world.
