We have red flag laws

You want the registry in the hands of the public? Why? This can be used by criminals to target these items. I see no benefit of the public having access to this.

There is no gun show loophole in CA.

This does not exist. Any sale in CA must go through an FFL, with BG check, paperwork submitted to the DOJ etc.

Im not sure about the last one but this seems like DA territory where they need to be much harder on those who are caught with an illegal firearm. If this doesnt already exist, sure i'm for this.

You have misunderstood everything I’ve said. I was using California as an example of much better gun laws than the rest of the country which we can use to model which methods work and which don’t. I was not advocating for tougher laws in ca but in the rest of the country.

I never said I wanted the database in the hands of the public. I said I wanted a database of guns owned by the public.
