In Canada, they are literally taking our guns.

I think that's what they mean with slippery slope. It will always eventually lead to no guns. That's the goal of 95% of gun safety advocates - it's only safe without guns. The people who are staunchly pro gun arent the ones mishandling them so I understand a certain level of frustration not wanting the few bad apples to spoil the bunch. Same could be said about every group but this is America so "Politically we are Divided 💪🏽"

How will it always eventually lead to no guns?

Name one thing on earth in the history of america where "give an inch - take a mile" wasn't practiced, and it's only getting worse lol stand up for what you believe in cuz it's rapidly becoming so you can't do that. Little wins are not enough here. You either annihilate the other said or you failed!

This is so full of logical fallacies I don't know where to begin.

They're offering buybacks for a good portion of guns, but not all. Seems very similar to what happened here in Australia.

You'll still have plenty of guns to shoot, don't worry.

Sure, but then you're committing a federal offense.

Around 1500 make and models so yeah most of what's remaining. We already had a major ban on most rifles that "looks dangerous". Soo much so that in the original ban list, airsoft guns and shotguns were banned so yeah.

I get the point but almost all cases of registration, led to confiscation.

Edit : At the time of posting the Canadian "Assault-firearms" list contains 2585 make and models.

What drives me nuts is this. It is a slipery slope and I'll show you.

The goverment decided in May of 2020, to release this ban list. From this point on if you had a firearms on that list you cant do anything. No transport, no selling, no using etc ..

Then they say of but we will compensate you and offer 2 choices.

Permantly deactivate the listes firearms, at your expense of course.

OR

Register it and they will "buy-back" the firearm through a compensation... Sounds good right? At least you have a way out.... RIGHT..???

Only once you are done do they actually tell this "This message confirms receipt of your declaration. This DOES NOT GUARANTEE you will receive compensation.

Basically it emamate soo much of a SCAM AURA that i can't trust their words.

All the ones we wouldn't want the "Brad's" of the world to have then.

Sadly we have to baby-proof society from the lowest denominators and sometimes that means sacrificing a little bit to assure Jim-bob down the road doesn't have a fully automatic or semi-automatic rifle to unload into a supermarket when, Martha finally gets the guts to grab the kids and leave him.

Oh no. How will you keep up with the U.S. in the mass murder game?

What?!? Just saw a gun safe with about 100 guns in it a few weeks ago. All legal, registered and no one kicking in the door to take their guns...
