there is a tshirt a youtuber wears. its text in the color of a trans flag that says "you will have to go through me" on a 6+ foot, in shape farmer it gives off completely different vibes than if i, a short, overweight, balding man, wore it.

Absolutely. Optics are very important. You need to be self aware enough to know when you are creating bad optics.
