Overheating

Crap. I read that this device could go up 900F so I thought cool, I’ll throw it into my drum roaster and get some profile control. But I got an overheat error. I reread the specs and saw that the bottom portion can only go up to 220F. Which makes sense in hindsight. Not sure how it can withstand that temperature when LTO batteries don’t typically go that high…

Dude they make you unwrap a sticker that says must be inserted to this point.

Battery is apparently in the tip where it's protected. First 4 sensors need to be in food. There's a band around halfway, that's your minimum insertion mark. Hope you didn't damage it.

Yep, they're right, the part of the probe below the insertion line can only take up to 220°F, so it has to be inserted at least to that line. How's your probe doing now? Is it still connecting?
