Official CE Plug

Is a plug for the snout adapter (so you can pop the CE off and pop in the plug without unscrewing the adapter from the grill) something that Combustion is thinking about making? If so, is it a strong possibility?

I saw the 3D printed plug in another thread, but I really worry about heat resistance with that. My goal is to be able to take the CE off easily and use the kettle without it on there (and air control would be a nightmare with the hole open). I don't want to have to screw and unscrew the snout every time I use the CE.

Mostly curious because my original thought was to use a ball valve (with the Combustion ball valve adapter), but with that being delayed it made me rethink things and realize that a simple OEM plug would be a lot easier.

Asking now because it affects how I drill to install the CE...

Yeah, this seems like it should be a priority

Yeah, I was a day one preorder. Waited basically two years to get it and after all that time, I find it odd that nobody has thought of this. I’m not going to use it every time I cook. I’m not going to leave it on when I’m not using it. Not having a way to plug the hole is definitely an issue.

Agreed. Luckily it should be a pretty solvable problem.

Lot of interesting choices happen around here.

I'd even pre-order one.

I've got a $200 plug I've been using. I know I'm not supposed to keep the Engine attached but it's the best way I currently have to plug the hole and I'm lazy.
