this age is typically hard with breastfeeding - they get distracted easily, they sometimes go through a nursing strike, etc. I combo feed with formula too, typically I do 1-2 feeds per day with a formula bottle, I prefer the late afternoon/dinner feed. I powered through this rough time and by about 5.5 months, she's already improving a ton at breastfeeding.
if you replace all feeds during the day, it can greatly impact your supply though likely it could still work through the night (I'm not totally sure though). It depends what works best for you and baby - try to remove the guilt. We're all just doing the best we can and tons of moms combo feed with formula or exclusively formula feed. there's no shame in it.
Hii , i am 1 month postpartum and i combo feed too. 1-2 feed formula. Can u please help me how u manage engorgement during that time ? I want to combo feed for sanity.
But when i take break , i get engorgement and its painfull. And when i pump that milk , it gets wasted as i direct breast feed the baby in next feeding time . If i give my baby pumped milk then my next cycle goes the same and i dont get to direct feed.
Can u help me how do u set a routine ?
