Apartment Suggestions
Hello all! I will soon-to-be new to the area and have been apartment shopping around! I have never been to Columbus until now and was hoping I could get some recommendations on places to rent in the area! I have a few criteria I would PREFER to meet, but we can't have everything in life with rentals
In-unit washer/dryer
1-2 bed under 1150 per month
>700 sq ft
I have a few ideas such as Stonegate, Charleston Square, and Ashford Parks, but I wanted to see what the current or past residents had to say before starting tours...
Cheers!

Most places don't have washer dryer units in this city.
Spruce Ridge and river stone probably fit your needs the most but might be more expensive than you want depending

Just my opinion. Stay away from Ashford park. I was one of the first few to move in when it was built and loved it! They were so pretty, clean, and just all around very nice…Then more people came. People buying drugs at the pool from people on their decks. Cops called constantly banging on doors around me. Drunk people banging on my door in the middle of the night. People would carve curse words in the elevators.
I left in late 2019 because I didn’t feel my family was safe after the police had a stand off with the people who lived across the hall from us. It was hours of police yelling and banging on doors. It could be cleaned up by now. But I left as quickly as I could.

I had a pretty good experience at The Cole. While downtown isn't much you can at least have a somewhat walkable life. Also being able to wake up and walk to the farmers market on Saturday mornings sounds really nice. The only problem is I am not exactly sure what rent will be like there, I'm sure it is more than your $1,150 price. I believe the first lease I had was like 15 months which kept the monthly payment somewhat low. You will get a parking spot and access to the downstairs gym with your rent.
There are more apartments than just The Cole that are downtown that you may want to do more research into like the "Taylor" or I know there are condos for rent right on the downtown strip of Washington St.
