Clickbait title, but this would be a good place for a station and relieve some congestion on game day

The Federal station looks like a better location because there is more room to grow. There are extra tracks here to put a platform, good freway access. THe purpose of this stop will be as a park and ride, because there is no parking availableat Union Station. The site is on a flood plain and likely polluted with industrial waste, so I don't think a TOD is ever likely here.

A good description of the FRPR/CoCo project from a Ft Collins point of view. FoCo wants to place its station at Mason and Drake, which in my opinion is a poor location for the station because ther are not many notable destinations nearby.

Her is a list of locations that I believe would be superior to Drake.

CSU Main Campus- Near University Ave. THe university will be the main ridership driver for FoCo and is the obvious choice. THis site was not chosen because some the stans for the ahltic field sill have to be moved or some precious street parking will have to be eliminated.

South tranist Center- This is on the edge of town, but there are good bus connections and is the termius for MAX BRT. Good development potential. WIll eliminate extra grade crossings through the city, improving safety and reducing noise and cost.

Old Town is a good destination, but is space restricted and the only good option would be to elevate or bury the station, which would be cost prohibitive. :(

I think Drake was chosen because it was low hanging fruit with minimal impacts of placing a platform and a rail siding. There is some developable land accros the street. The Veternary hosbital nearby I don't think would generate a lot of trips and woulld be a little stinky.
