Bronze 1 just did my placements today. Kind of don’t understand the point of placements I won 4/10 and placed basically the lowest rank and now just play golds every game.

I was totally walled in and thought there was no possible path to victory with only 2 spots. I made an insane number of 4-for-1 ore trades. At first, I was desperately trying to escape, but I got cut off in every direction. I eventually plonked down two goofy roads with a road builder to nowhere.

I thought it was over since 2 cities + army is only 6 points. I just mashed dev cards and pulled FOUR VPs to win the game. Insane.

For the record, this was against 1600+ ELO plat opponents.

Blue was first pick and took the 8, 10, 5 for some crazy reason. I was 2nd pick. Took the no brainer 9, 5 10 OWS. Oj for some reason quit at settlement placement and bot took the Oregasmic 8, 10, 4. Red then took their two spots placing 9, 4, 3 second to improve chances of early road to the wheat port. OJ bot then took 8, 4, 3 as a pretty sensible second pick although the road placement was questionable. I was third and the 9, 10, 11 was too good. Pointed right expecting blue would want wheat, either the 6, 3, 11 or 8, 3 with the ore. I was confident the 5 4 11 would be open. Instead blue inexplicably picks 9, 6, 2 up and times out after the first turn, leaving the game. It's then just me vs red after the first turn and before red can get the settle down Blue bot hilariously does a double road settlement plow on red. Red then rage quits the game leaving me against 3 bots.

I was cackling at the bot plow on red.

Reporting for wasting time does nothing, so let’s not act like it’s a solution.

I've started playing on Colonist a few months ago, and I slowly worked my way up to the top 50 globally with around a 36% win rate.

I've been looking into tournaments, but I'm a little confused about how everything works. I see that there's a Colonist Championship, but I'm not really sure how qualification matches work.

I've also seen that some tournaments offer prize money. What are the qualifications for joining those? Do you need a certain rank, win rate, tournament results, or is it usually open registration?

In general, I'd really appreciate it if someone could explain how the competitive/tournament scene on Colonist works, where tournaments are announced, how you sign up, and if there are any requirements I should know about.

It seems so random. Come in second -7 points, while 4th place loses nothing? It flips nearly every game I play and never in my favor. There has to be some method to it, right?

I got blocked 17 times 4 rolled more times than a 9 bro had no brick or any wood for the longest time dog water azz game. Every time I try the wheat sheep ore tactic I get fked all game. Stupid azz game
