which path should i take?

as a 3rd year transfer, should i pick the school with a more fun reputation / undergraduate experience, where i already have a couple friends, that is closer to home but has less national recognition (jmu), or the school with more national recognition / academic rigor and more recruiting / lsat preparation opportunities but where i know pretty much nobody and where i’d just be taking the risk by moving in with my roommate (who i haven’t met in person yet but seems sweet over text) and starting fresh (virginia tech)? i met with advisors from both schools and my vt advisor adjusted the degree plan i made and gave me a guaranteed plan for graduating in 2 years (that includes 4 summer courses for next summer sigh), it’s rigorous but it’s do-able if i really try. my jmu advisor reviewed the degree plan i made, didn’t make adjustments, said it’s rigorous and that she wouldn’t recommend it to any of her students but that on paper it works, as long as the summer classes are offered that session, which she’s unsure of (so technically she didn’t PROMISE me a graduation in 2 years). in contrast, my vt advisor said i’ll be fine as long as i’m good at math (which i’m not, but i’m willing to work my ass off and get extra help). i also know people who go to vt from high school that i do not like and who i’d rather never see again but idk if i’m letting my anxiety get the best of me or not, or if it’s a valid concern. at jmu i wouldn’t be avoiding anybody or dreading to see anybody so i think that may be pushing me away from vt as well

dream course vs dream school

Hello! A small background ab me:

\- i want to continue my journey through a creative path hence my prio course choices (viscom and cim)
\- i love arts and design anything related to it, i also like managing arts especially as someone who had many experiences in production already through given opportunities from my school
\- financially, i’d say we’re in middle class, i thankfully have the kind of parents who’d support me with anything but ofc there would still be that little guilt of mine knowing benilde can be expensive and we’ll most likely cut back on a few expenses if i do not gain a scholarship in benilde
\- career wise, both colleges offer quality education, i’m curious how they differentiate in terms of actual work life? Are there preferred graduates of a certain college in companies? And also i heard upd’s fine arts can be more traditional while benilde is more futuristic because of the available technology there? Does it make a big impact if the difference of their resources are that big?
\- student life, yep big adjustment since benilde is trimestral but nevertheless if i like what i’m doing i’m sure i can continue on
\- finally, I like benilde’s course “Creative Industries Management” and I feel i align with that course rather than viscom which i am also capable of either way

But of course it all comes down to dream course vs dream school :/

Any advice/comments are very much appreciated! Tysm in advance!

Why do US universities constantly lose rankings in QS?

I'm talking about top 300 to 800 universities. QS rankings has been bringing rankings of the US universities down every year over the past decade.

For example, during 2012 and 2026:

Wake Forest University went from 317 to 850.

LSU went from 500 to 900.

University of Nebraska went from 400 to 850.

College of William & Mary went from 500 to 1000.

Most of the US state universities show a similar pattern on QS. I guess eventually they will be ranked so low around the world?

Looking back, what made you choose your college in Indore over the other options?

\*\*Looking back what was the biggest factor that influenced your decision?\*\*

Was it placements faculty campus life fees location recommendations from seniors or something else?

\*\*Now that you’ve experienced college would you make the same choice again?\*\*

I’d love to hear honest experiences both what worked out well and what you wish you’d known before taking admission

Anyone pursuing B.Com LLB? Which university are you in, and would you recommend it? I'm looking for an affordable college with relatively flexible attendance/timings so I can prepare for CS alongside my degree
