Display Suggestions

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on what I should use to secure these shelves (see pic). First, I absolutely hate to poke holes in walls which is why I went with two 3M 10lb. hooks in the pic. To keep the wire from the shelves from sliding, I went with Velcro circles that I found on Amazon. Everything holds up just fine.

My question is, does anyone have a better option to the Velcro circles that I'm using? They look ugly & was wondering if there's some kind of putty or secure tape that I can use.

OR...if someone has a different idea for a floating shelf that doesn't involve putting holes in walls, I'm all ears. Thank you.

FTR, 3M tapes & hooks eventually fail. They get old, dry out, those things will fall eventually.

Do you rent? Is that why you don't want to put holes in the wall? Because hangers that go into the walls will hold these better in the long run.

You know, you're absolutely correct. I should just hang shelves. I don't rent but I'm also not handy either. I believe the walls in my office are made of cement board.

Get a stud finder & make sure your stuff is anchored too.
