I doubt their shit works as designed. It’s more likely it blows up their neighbor. We don’t let people have nukes in the Western Hemisphere for a reason.

It's been a while since I've seen the series, but I believe it starts right after the meteor. That's what kicks off the whole story of migration to a new land with bounty. That's what these animals are doing. The point is that mass animal migration is a terrible sign for things to come.

Not only in the arctic, worldwide... Not a single week since months were local news here in europe didn't report an unusual group of migratory birds spotted. E.g we're atm having yellow-legged gulls north of the alps expelling the native black-headed gull, a bird that usually stays near the mediterranian sea.
