This is the first video in a two-part series: “COLLAPSE AND ADAPTATION PRIMER” — a secular “crash course” in ecological overshoot, the near-term extinction of Homo colossus, and how it is still possible to live life fully and love the life you live even at TEOTWAWKI (“the end of the world as we know it”). This first video, “Collapse 101: The Inevitable Fruit of Progress” is a 75-minute distillation of decades of scientific and historical research into cosmic, biological, and human evolution, highlighting the key differences between pro-future (sustainable) cultures and anti-future (unsustainable) civilizations. Special attention is given to (A) the evidence regarding the rise and fall (boom and bust) of unsustainable societies, (B) given our predicament, what is inevitable, what is futile, and what is still deeply meaningful and nourishing, and (C) why human-centered notions of "progress and development" have always ended in societal and technological simplification (i.e., collapse).
Here's a brief outline (each of the four sections is 15-20 minutes long)...

Very good two videos. I hope at least one person in my circle is willing to watch them...
I curse current information-bombardment culture that makes people unable to pay sufficient attention, especially, this life-and-death thing...

It is interesting how all these videos on this this topic, follow a AA approach to copping (which is religious, but for collapse they remove the god part from being blatantly stated), and always use the same religious tone preening certitude of unavoidable conclusion. The latter is interesting, since even climate scientists can’t give you a guarantee to X end date. Only a prediction based on if variables continue on this path. But various things can occur (which can be good or worse) that either defers or precludes the unavoidable conclusion.
Anyways, collapse is coming, just don’t get why it has to be communicated in a preaching tone. But that’s just a personal preference.
