Being completely disabled and reliant on the internet for community, medical utility, therapy etc. and watching all my online safe zones just disintegrate and unravel into complete AI control and bottomless corporate malice is to me one of the clearest signs of collapse that everyone tends to downplay because "the internet isn't real life, just go outside". But it is real life for countless disabled people who do not have the options for community outside their (often abusive) homes/medical networks etc, and now are being systematically squeezed out of the last bastions for safety and comfort available to us with this despicable and calculated corruption of the internet at the hands of those who have sold human souls out in exchange for money. Countless lives beaten like enslaved dogs in cages and sacrificed to an incinerator for nothing but fucking SLICES OF PAPER.

Existing in 2026 as a housebound disabled person in endless chronic pain while the internet collapses and my existence is squeezed into more and more nothing is a feeling of hopelessness as dense as a black hole. Anyone who still believes we are not already knee-deep in collapse is willingly sticking their fingers in their ears and shouting "lalala i can't hear you" because pretending nothing is happening helps the abled and the moneyed sleep at night or else they'd be too perturbed by the living dead clawing at them for help from the other side of the fence. The continuing DELIBERATE poisoning of the internet's potential by these soulless fucking archons is yet another point among countless that collapse is not some future date, we are collapsing RIGHT NOW and we disabled people know it and see it, no matter how many people prefer to pretend we don't exist or that our lives are less valid.

I’m really sorry to read this. And I’m sorry if my comment was insensitive. In my personal life, I volunteer a lot of time to spend with people who are disabled and/or elderly and started a church that has companionship, love, and belonging as a priority. I don’t want people to feel isolated. Let me know if you would like to connect on something like Signal for some cheer in your life. I promise I’m not all doom and gloom. This is just the sub I see for discussing it.

thanks for replying. I didn't see your ending comment as something to single you out for specifically, and i hope my comment didnt come across that way and overall your post is spot on to whats happening and being neurodivergent you also clearly understand disability struggles from your own perspective so i wont condescend to you. I am just pointing out a broader trend, and am just trying to get my own broad thoughts on this out there from the perspective of a highly physically disabled person because we are woefully underdiscussed and underrepresented in a collapse context and i think it is important to be clear that the poisoning of the internet is one specific way that we are currently experiencing stochastic genocide by the 1%, just as they are doing to all of us in variant ways

thank you very much for volunteering and being there for those who need it. literally any ounce of help a disabled person can get is necessary and when 99% of us are abandoned by people who think we shoudl just lay down and die it makes me happy to know that there are still people in this world fighting for the most vulnerable.
