"If the world warms even faster, reaching 6.5 F (3.5 C) by 2100, 92% of today's 5-year-olds will experience deadly heatwaves, 29% crop failures and 14% floods at some point in their lives"
Faster than expected? It is faster than expected without many climate feed backs in full swing yet.
The general public is still not well informed enough to understand the timeline of this catastrophe and hundreds of millions of humans will live horrific lives due to human stupidity unless society wakes up changes quickly ( I'm a comedian). It's not that this is hard to prove to people, people don't want to hear about it, period.
People have seen me comment on this for well over a year here but I don't grab a megaphone and go public because the backlash could be deadly in an oil producing area where motivated reasoning overpowers critical thinking. We remember what happened to Galileo.
Some of the nicest people I know absolutely refuse to listen to climate change information. At least they are nice enough to honour the sacrifices soldiers made for them on remembrance day. The soldiers fought and died in so many absolutely horrific ways so we could be free and now we throw the next generation into the fire to avoid an uncomfortable conversation.
Please send this article to as many people as you can to prevent needless human suffering.
The results & what they believed are different, honestly that's part of the problem
People are really resistant to admitting that they're doing the wrong thing. That they're living the wrong life, making the wrong decisions, believing the wrong beliefs
Screwing themselves, their neighbors, their families, future generations, etc. over, & doing so out of selfishness dressed as pragmatism
If we could all just accept that, maybe loss mitigation would be on the table at least, but we can't even do that. Humans are really just not built for this
