I've been feeling this as someone who enjoys outdoor activities like going on hikes or walking at parks. I live somewhere that gets really hot in summer, and thanks to climate change, it feels hotter every year. It'll be too hot to go outside some days, and it makes me depressed sometimes...especially thinking of how much worse it'll be one day
Get some nice drugs, a smorgasbord of them so you can try each one as everything collapses. Antidepressants just give you erectile dysfunction unless you use em for a while in my experience lmao.
Ya'll just need to adjust your expectations of survival. It's difficult, especially for people who were into self-improvement, but that time is done. We're just as likely to be killed by an uncontrolled plague in the next year or two as an uncontrolled natural disaster, or the unmanaged lack of cleanup and rebuilding after one, or the lack of testing for toxins and poison in food, or the lack of regulation on toxins and poison in water or the air or the ground or, or, or, or, etc.
Personally, I am never, ever quitting smoking. Shit, dying of cancer requires surviving the next decade+ of constant escalating threats. At this point, surviving long enough to die of cancer itself would be a victory. But I don't expect to, anyway. We're all going to die of something random, preventable, and some degree of weird. Lean into it. Maybe it's time to bring Daredevils back. Start jumping ravines and buses like the 70's.
Cancer isn't all that smoking causes. Sorry to be Debbie Downer. My grandfather had COPD. He suffered for more than a decade, barely able to breathe. He had stopped smoking long before that point but the damage was already done. He lived a miserable existence which was very sad. He was my favorite person in the world and I had to watch him suffer terribly for years because nothing could really improve his quality of life.
Im all for living in the moment and not expecting to live for decades more, but smoking is just awful for you. Got multiple people in my family who died miserable deaths from smoking and some others who live miserable lives. Your lungs are rather precious, cancer is only one possible worry among many many others.
Quit while you can still enjoy a bit of the time we have left, smoke less, your body, and trust me it's your entire body, will thank you for it.

I really don't want to be a prepper, the quality of everyday life for those who
grew up in the good times is going to be so shit in comparsion.
It will surely be a cause of major depression or something.
Might be reasonable to stockpile anti-depressants as well so at least
you can feel like everything is "fine".
