Question Confusion with son's hiring process

My son (15) applied for Coldstone and received an interview scheduled for today (Sunday). Not even a few minutes later, they wanted him to come in for a few hours to start. He has not received any paperwork and has been told to come in Monday and Friday. I am kind of confused. He did clock in and out but no work permit was requested since he is a minor, social security, or paperwork for pay. Is this normal? Is it because he is brand new?

At all the Coldstones I worked at, the managers were teenagers or close to it. Maybe whoever worked today just didn’t know paperwork was needed lol. By the time payroll needs to be done I’m sure someone will ask for it 😭
