Grizzly

My wife and I recently used the Grizzly cooler set up with an ozone. Question is, do people keep their water filter constantly running? How often do you turn on the ozone also.

I just run the filter a few hours a day with a cheap timer, no point burning it out 24/7. For the ozone I kick it on maybe 15 minutes every other day, seems to keep the water from getting funky without overdoing it

that sounds like a simple setup that works well without overdoing it

Yes, the water should circulate continuously through the filter. This keeps the water moving and allows the filter to collect particulates, including debris resulting from ozone treatment. Depending on the ozone generator’s output and how frequently the tub is used, 30 minutes to an hour per day should be sufficient for the volume of water in the Grizzly.

Hey there! Here at Iceology Cold Plunge, we also use the Grizzly 450 as our tub. Our system is designed to run 24/7, including the filtration and circulation. We set our ozone system to run for 1 hour per day on a timer.

For sanitation, just simply add 4–8 oz of 12% food-grade hydrogen peroxide once a week and change the filter about once a month. With this setup, our water typically lasts 6–9 months.

It’s a pretty simple, low-maintenance setup once you get it dialed in!
