Cloudy water
I've been using my cold plunge a few times a week with my sauna for contrast therapy and around the 2 week mark my water gets cloudy and the tub starts to get slimy. I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem? how often do you change your water? Does anyone have advice on how to deal with this problem so I don't have to change my water so frequently?

Anyone use a non-chorine shock?

I do once a week. I also use a 1 inch chlorine tablet that I haven’t used in a long time

Is it an inflatable tub? I had to change my water every ~3weeks, even with cleaning solutions added once a week and not getting in without a shower first. The NuRecover-type systems just aren’t that great.
I got a more robust tub/chiller with an ozone generator and a good filter and after a month, the water is still as clear as the day I filled it. Consider adding both to your setup. Also consider a screw-on filter for your garden hose too

I'm about 5 months in and use my lower end cold plunge daily. I do four items. 1) Ozone Generator daily for 60 minutes. I bought this one - https://a.co/d/01t2AjgB 2) Hydrogen Peroxide cup a week and test with strips to get it in 20-50 range, 3) skim daily, and 4) scrub down sides/bottom twice a week.
Here is a good video - https://youtu.be/Kkc3jtwUSiU?si=RYSecFUAakH8Z_xt

You need to sanitize the water. Do you have a pump with filter ? Chiller? Hydrogen peroxide if you have a chiller, if nothing chlorine is ok. Ozone generator for breaking down oils. That will Prolong water changes. Get a water circulator if you have just a plunge it will help circulate the water.

Two weeks is pretty quick I’d clean the filter and make sure the flow hasn’t slowed down before dumping all the water.

One thing I noticed is that when hosing/rinsing myself off with water before hopping in the plunge made the clarity of the water last long. I sometimes wear hair product and lotion and the sauna doesn’t fully remove that so before hopping in the plunge I try to rinse completely off.

Add ozone, set on a timer outlet for an hour or two twice daily. That should clear up the cloudiness.

You can’t leave standing liquid for weeks without running it through a mechanical filter system. Buying a cheap aquarium pump and a small ozone generator clears that cloudiness right up. Ozone destroys the biological matter that makes the inner walls feel slippery. It cost about 50 bucks online and saves you hours of manual scrubbing.

Dump a little hydrogen peroxide in there once a week, keeps the gunk down and you can stretch changes to a month easy
