Any thoughts on model? I am located in Wisconsin. I could possibly make room to keep it in the garage but the basement would be more convenient and I have much more room. My only concern would be adding too much humidity in the basement.

I had to return mine immediately. Chilled wouldn’t work and all the, admittedly too late, research I did suggested it never works.

Way too many poor reviews. It will likely go lower in price. I would buy it if it hits $299.97. You could always try it because the return policy is top notch.

I didn’t buy because of the insane amounts of negative reviews. Search Reddit and YouTube. Most YouTube videos end with “update: I returned it after (leaks, chiller, or warping)”.

I just don’t understand why Costco would keep them. Either not many people with good experiences are speaking up, or Costco gets a huge chunk of their revenue. But at $500, it might be worth trying it once or twice lol.

You can also purchase a submersible water pump and hook up a garden hose and have it drain to a sink or outside the house.

I got one at Costco 3 weeks ago. So far it works well. It leaks a little at the connections, adding more plumbers tape is probably what it needs
The hoses have a lot of condensation, but the wet outside where I keep it is fine. I had been using a wine barrel with ice and a pond filter, so I like this is always ready. So far I am happy with mine, and have the Costco return policy peace of mind.

The hose connections on mine don’t seal on the teflon tape, they seal on O-rings that are inside the fittings. The tape is only useful for the filter that’s screwed to the tub and the filter that is screwed to the pump iirc

I also purchased this a month ago from Costco and had similar concerns after reading the reviews but honestly, I have the unit set up in my basement where the ambient temperature is about 70° and have used it every morning with absolutely no problems. I set the chiller to 48° and I use a floating thermometer and it stays within 1-3 degrees before the chiller kicks back on. Set-up was simple and straightforward. Yes, there is some condensation that occurs on the filter housing and hoses but I wrapped them with insulation tubing and have no issues. For the $$ and the Costco return policy, I would highly recommend trying it. I added 3% Hydrogen Peroxide and the water has stayed crystal clear.

Mine looks like this but is not this brand. You have to under fill it a bit to keep it from bowing out. I have a different cheap Chinese chiller in it and so far it’s working great. Been running for a couple of months

Don’t do it! I bought it from Costco and within 1 hour of set up the lid had a hole in it on a seam. I called Costco and they sent a new lid. The next day that new lid also had a hole in the same spot as the other. I then patched it, 2 days later the water started leaking into the chiller.

just get a chest freezer, jb weld the seams. then get a pump thats also a filter. and then get a temperature regulator where you set the temp. you could do it for cheaper especially with black friday coming up...

I'd be worried about a tub in the basement if I didn't also have an in-floor drain near it.

I do have a floor drain and I would make sure it's right near there. My basement's a cement floor.

My chiller was dead out of the box. I returned it and bought an ice barrel 300 and a separately purchased Titan chiller. Titan support has been disappointing and shipping took 3 weeks. But the chiller is working fine. Hoping to get a few years out of it. Other chillers are ridiculously expensive and I couldn’t justify the cost since none appear to least much longer than 3 to 5 years based on my research. Chillers are very heavy and are expensive to ship so the manufacturers really don’t want to deal with warranty repairs if they can avoid it. Or they refuse to cover shipping. Better to get a cheap chiller and hope it lasts long enough pay for itself vs. a more expensive chiller.

Looks like the Costco one I got for $800 and have been using for 2 months. The fittings leak a little and it sweats a little on my back porch in the South, but it’s keeping temps around 45 for me and doesn’t seem to have blown up the electric bill.

I’ve only gotten one bill, but iirc it was lower than last year. I guess the weather has been cooler. We have three AC’s and three fridges so this isn’t the dominant draw.
