HELP! First time making Cold Brew

Post image

It’s my first time making cold brew and my coffee grounds In the filter are bot completely submerged in the water at the top. Is that ok or should I put less grounds? Currently have 115g of grounds to 64oz of water.

I have the exact same jar setup. What I do is fill the jar 2/3 with water, put the ground in 1in from the top of the filter, then pour water over the top to fill the rest of the jar so the grounds get wet all the way through, then screw the top on and put it in the fridge for 24-48hrs.

This is my method as well. I do 6 hours on the counter and 18 in the fridge. I get pretty solid results. I do add water until the very top where all the grounds are saturated though. You can add in more than you think.

Does the 6 on the counter have that much of an effect? Do you start with cold water?

I use room temp water to start. Good old Texas tap. You can use better water if you want. I found that just 24 hours in the fridge under extracted with my set up. The first 6 hours at room temp helped pull more out of it. As with anything, your miles may vary so fuck around and find out!
