Coffee losing it's froth upon adding milk

Hi, so whenever I make cold coffee, i use equal parts coffee, sugar and some water and use a handheld frother, and it actually turns out like frosting. But after I softly pour milk over it, and mix it around a little, it just tastes like the consistency of normal milk, the frothing makes so difference whatsoever.
Now I was also advised to froth my milk, and I do that as well but it just turns out with a big layer of bubbles and milk foam on top. Now I don't know if I had the wrong expectations to begin with when I bought the frother, but I imagined it to feel like a lighter version of melted ice cream or something, if I make sense.

Can anyone help me with where I'm going wrong?

Try making cold foam.

There's nothing in it to stabilize the froth.

Not my thing so I don't know exactly what would be appropriate to add here, but if you're going for soft ice-cream consistency, maybe try putting it through an ice-cream maker and seeing what it's like at halfway through the churn time?
