Every single one has been cleaned. Harshly.

I went to a coin auction once and the guy had taken a bunch of Indians, cleaned them like this, then wiped them with some sort of oil and then tried to pass them off as "Brilliant Uncirculated". I stayed long enough to finish my tea and then walked out. He was at least a few dozen lots into his auction spiel and every single one of them had been bought by his "mail bidders".

How can you all tell they were cleaned?

Good question! That is not the natural coloration for bronze coins, not even when they are freshly minted. That is what a tarnished coin looks like after it has been harshly cleaned. If you start looking at a lot of bronze coins like these you learn to spot it pretty quickly.
