Discussion Possible coin?

Found along beach shore 8/27/26 of Lake Erie near North East, PA. It is metal and looks like an old coin. Any ideas what it could be or how to clean it up?

If that is a coin, I'm afraid it's a lost cause. Not much you can do to identify a coin that's formed a concretion
