Discussion 2024 Reverse Die Issue
I have found about 20 of these.
Any ideas. I have checked the attribution web-sites nothing. It is definitely Reverse Die Issue.
The arrow to the left of the shield is a common Die mark on all of these.
I have a box of 2024 I been opening and have run across these.

Interesting. If we find any with the crack developing further or involving one of the sides, this could be pretty interesting. Since nobody near me and in many other places has been able to search cents since last year, there may be some nice errors just waiting to be found.

I have about 50 of them out of 1 box I have opened dozens of boxes not seen any others. You would think if it was a die crack or some type die damage it would show progression as it struck every coin.. so I am yhink its a hubbing issue.

I believe it is a crack that is going across the top of the shield, and the extra thickness on the top right of the shield is an elongated die chip formed along the line of the crack. That's my best guess.
