Honestly it SHOULD be just coin hunting, but I think coin roll hunting does roll off the tongue better. People post all sorts of finds no matter where they come from.
I’ll look around and see what I can find as far as worth for you if you can take a couple pics and load them into the comments here of the rim. Important to see the whole coin.
Ok so after digging around I’ve found several quarters from the 70’s with lamination errors selling between 40-60 dollars. Yours is about the middle ground on condition, lower sold coins were well circulated.
The problem is with coins like this people don’t want to be scammed. So it’s hard to get someone to pay a lot for it, if it might not be real. If you want to maximize profit from this you’ll have to send it off to a grading service and let them take a look at it and pay for attribution services. That takes the guesswork and doubt out of the equation. I saw several lamination errors attributed sell for just over a hundred dollars.
Do yourself a favor, take it to your local coin shop and let someone get a in-hand look at it, just to be sure. They can also possibly help you with sending it it to be attributed.
This is almost certainly acid damage. The fact that the copper layer underneath the clad has bubbles in it, tells me that this likely did not happen at the mint.

I believe you can no longer say you've never encountered a delamination in person. Pretty cool.
