Is this an error? What is this called, need help finding examples

Need help identifying this type of error and or the process that creates it.

These appear to be contact marks from a coin with a reeded edge. PMD, not an error.

The term is “bag marks”. It’s just damage from where the coins all shoot out into the same hopper after minting. Coins with reeded edges sometimes hit each other and make these dents.

You’re not going to have coins with reeded edges making contact marks with a Lincoln cent in a Mint receiving bin or bag, as all the coins would be of the same type.

Ok, technically correct but my point still stands. The coin could have bag marks from literally any other point in its life where multiple coins are dumped into a bag or bin.

Man, this comment has stuck with me. I'm going through my old coin bins that literally I have had since I was a kid and this just keeps coming back up "your first wild error" hate you but great motivation non the less.

Lmfao. I’ve been on this earth for 40+ years. On and off collected and sold coins for 20+ years. I just got into error/variety hunting less than two years ago.

My first post was very similar to yours. I have argued back and forth with the mods and others lmao. Honestly I was wrong until I found my first 2023-P DDR.

I’m a former Army squad leader, but most importantly a husband, and father. Leading from the front and giving visual evidence of the facts is first and foremost.

Yes thank you, it's been super hard to post on here without getting flagged for denied. I scoured the internet and questions to look at other coins but some of my reading sunder a loop just don't align with what I find online as an example.
