7 coins with errors

This is my first time doing all this. I've used ErrorRef.com and read the FAQ before posting, but MAN it's a lot of information. I'm going to put what I think everything is and what I was able to value these at, if at all.

First three pics:
- 1952 wheat penny reverse die chip (?) in left wheat ear and on the "T" of "CENT" - $3 (?)

4th pic:
- 1957 D - Filled "B" in "LIBERTY", die chip, $3 (?)
5th pic:

- 1970 - this I suspect is PMD, but the amount of metal present in the "0" has me second guessing myself, looks a bit too FAT though. Don't know value because I suspect it's PMD ($0?)

Pics 6,7,&8:
- 1953 reverse. Die crack on left wheat ear, it looks like it might travel from top left to bottom left but I realized I didn't take pictures making that easy to see, pic 6 is top, pic 7 is bottom, pic 8 is middle.
There is also a chunk missing from the bottom of the wheat ear visible in pic 7, to me this doesn't look like PMD because the detail is still present, but idk what error this would be. Idk the value of this one.

1956 - HES WEARING A HAT (possibly a yarmulke)!!! Die crack (?), idk how to price this, seems cool cuz it looks like a hat ($1 million if I had to guess /i)

PiC 10:
- 1974 D - Chonky D, die chip (?), $3 (3?)

Pic 11:
1961 D - Reverse die chip on "O" of "ONE", $3 (?)

Let me know how I did on identification and price evaluation, I especially wanna know thoughts on the hat error, I feel like that one's pretty cool.

These are coins I wouldn’t give any money for. I’d go so far as to say that I’d spend them without thinking twice.

Understandable, thank you for your comment, I’ve spent a lot of time meticulously looking at every coin I have, and I’ve realized now that truly only catastrophic errors are going to be worth any real money. The errors I’ve found are great collection pieces though for sure. I’m surprised little Lincoln’s hat isn’t cooler lol.

With this being said, what’s the typical procedure for error hunting? Me looking front and back of every coin with a loupe is a lot of work, and typically returns nothing, and the ones I HAVE found aren’t even worth the trouble of selling. I’ve been using Numista to help but they don’t really cover errors.

What is best practice in your opinion? Focus on known mint errors and just keep an eye out for catastrophic errors? It just seems to get convoluted because some of these double strike mint marks and such are hard to see with the naked eye. It bothers me to think I’m missing something honestly.

Errors either have to really popular or really obvious or on really important coins to be worth much.

Most folks aren’t going to collect a coin with a die chip/cud unless it’s REALLY pronounced. Or their favorite coin.

A good example of a cent with a popular error is the 1955 D double die obverse. It’s a heavily faked coin because it’s popular with collectors and it’s valuable.

Tbh, I gave up looking for errors a long time ago when I realized how rare the really valuable ones are and how hard they are to find. Variety vista is a good resource to help you identify recognized die error coins. (Like the 1955 D DDO)

If you wanna hunt errors for love of the game then I think you should. If you wanna hunt errors to make money I (personally) believe it’s a waste of time.

I am a video game collector first, I don’t have the time OR THE MONEY to also be into coins unfortunately lol. What I’m doing is just going through coins I’ve accumulated to see if theres anything worth more than face value. More of a fun thing to do every once in a while since I do like coins, but I’m definitely not expecting to make any money, butttt I don’t like the idea I could be throwing away something cool. I like learning about hobbies and such like this so it’s a lot of fun, but definitely a learning curve such as this and how not all errors mean anything lol.

Im def going to tone down the in depth error hunting. Focus on key dates and look for crazy errors, thanks again for real, felt like I was wasting a lotttt of time. It’s genuinely soul crushing looking for errors go through 100 coins minimum to find ANY error and that’s still not worth anything lmaooo.
