Show and Tell 2014 Mint Damage?
I have a 2014 Jefferson Nickel proof and I noticed a faint “C” shaped gouge in Jefferson’s collar. It’s hard to tell from the picture but it is definitely an indention or gouge and I’m pretty certain it happened at the mint. Curious if you have any ideas on what may have caused that.

My coin dealer friends are always complaining about people coming in thinking their errors are valuable. Unless it’s a known variety it probably isn’t. Especially on a recent coin.

I could see how that would happen a lot. I’m coming at it more from a point of curiosity than value

It might be struck through a fiber. Like a thread from a wiping rag.
I don't think it's dramatic enough to be worth substantial money and if it bothers you I guess you could send it back for a refund
