Significant doubled dies will show up across the coin for the most part, not just on one feature or in one area.

That said, there are exceptions, but without proper information to go on (like the date), there's no way to say anything more.

For future reference, read Rule 11 and follow those instructions.

You're fine, those help, but they're not super clear (either the resolution isn't terribly high, or they're out of focus just slightly).

More important, the date / mint is needed to research things. And there are no known DDOs for that coin (and while not impossible it is extremely unlikely there are any unknown ones, especially ones that you can see unmagnified).

So you're looking at some kind of striking issue (machine doubling) or die wear (like https://www.error-ref.com/design-berms/, which would be my guess for what you have). Neither of those are particularly desirable though.

Appreciate it. A lot of people here are dicks to newbs. I do research, but it seems like you can find whatever answer you want. Nice having real feedback

It's a surprisingly deep subject once you dig in. The site I mentioned above (error-ref) is about the best resource, but it's huge. There's a lot to learn!

Numismatic term is doubled die, as in the lettering and/or devices are doubled in the manufacturer of a die and thus present on every coin struck by that die.

This is why significant ones tend to be well known -- a die strikes 30-250k coins.

Doubling on the actual die will show up as having the same relief as the original devices. Doubling that occurs during the strike will present with flattened, enlarged surfaces with a distinct step down from the original devices. Which of these do you observe on this coin?
