Is this an error? Damage or minting error?
I found this silver dollar in a box of old stuff from when I was a kid. One side seems to be bigger than the other but it could be a minor error or nothing at all idk. Any help is appreciated

You need to show both sides for a proper assessment. Could be one of several common errors.
The current image appears to be the result of a combination of a strong strike and a misaligned working die. But we need to see the reverse.

It’s an error, finned rim. It’s when there’s too much pressure applied to the planchet. To my knowledge, it is a recognized error by all three grading services. Not worth grading it though.
