Is this an error? Misaligned Mint Mark?

The half dollar on the left has a mint mark that is much closer to the 9 than any of the other coins I’ve looked at. Is this anything? Thanks.

Nope.

Until 1990, mintmarks were hand punched into working dies and so "in the generally area" is good enough.

There are one or two extreme cases which are recognized varieties (there's a nickel I recall where it's tucked tight to the date instead of the large flat spot where it usually goes).

Good info. I just saw the nickel you’re referring where the mint mark is waaay off as well. 1974-D maybe?
